CCR will be holding an Endorsement Convention on May 11th.
Those candidates seeking nomination in the August Primary election will have the opportunity to make their case to the Republican delegates who will carefully decide on Saturday May 11th who will win the endorsement and support of the County GOP!

Resolution to Call a County Endorsment Convention
Whereas The Republican Party is a private organization, specifically a political non-profit; and
Whereas The Republican Party has the right to select its own representation and leadership without outside interference; and
Whereas Michigan Compiled Law requires primary elections to be voted on by the “qualified and registered electors of the party”; and
Whereas There are currently no “qualified and registered electors of the party” in Michigan due to our open primary process and lack of registration; and
Whereas Michigan Compiled Law references primary elections through caucuses and conventions repeatedly in Public Act 116 of 1954; and
Whereas The elections in Michigan allow Democrats to vote on the Republican side of the ballot in the August primary; and
Whereas Charlevoix County is a majority Republican county, and the vast majority of our nominees win the General Election; and,
Whereas Charlevoix County has had candidates file for office as Republicans in recent years with known Democrat ties and liberal beliefs, with evidence of campaign contributions to the Democrat party and Democrat candidates; and
Whereas The Charlevoix County Republican Executive Committee (CCREC) find the statewide election system and laws to lack of integrity and, therefore, not be trustworthy; and
Now Therefore Be it Resolved The Charlevoix County Republicans Executive Committee charges the Chair of the CCREC to Call a County Endorsement Convention of precinct delegates, and notify all candidates who will appear as a Republican on the August Primary ballot; and,
Resolved The County Endorsement Convention shall authorize and empower the CCREC to endorse, promote and support candidates for State, County and/or Local candidates who are selected by the delegates of this Endorsement Convention; and,
Resolved The County Endorsement Convention shall consider the adoption of a County Republican Party Platform; and,
Resolved CCREC will hold candidates, elected officials, and election workers accountable to the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and our Republican Party Platform.
